Interviews will be Saturday February 14th, 2026 prior to the Maine-Anjou banquet at the Iowa Beef Expo. A schedule will be sent out after applications are returned.

Queen Eligibility Requirements
  •  Applicant must be a dues-paid member of the IJMAA.
  • Ages 14-20 as of January 1st, 2026.
  • Applicants should be actively involved in raising and promoting Maine-Anjou cattle.
  • Applicants must be present during the Iowa State Fair Maine-Anjou open show and Maine-Anjou field day.
  • Second terms are allowed only when no other qualified individuals apply. 
Princess Eligibility Requirements
  •  Applicant must be a dues-paid member of the IJMAA.
  • Applicant must between the ages of 10-13 as of January 1st, 2026. 
  • Applicant should show an active interest in raising and promoting Maine-Anjou cattle. 
  • Applicants must be present during the Iowa State Fair Maine-Anjou open show and Maine-Anjou field day. 
  • Second terms are allowed only when no other qualified individuals apply. 
Selection Process
  •  A judge(s) will evaluate the candidate(s) through an interview prior to the Maine-Anjou annual banquet at the Iowa Beef Expo. 
  • Judging includes but is not limited to the following: 
    • Your involvement with the Maine-Anjou breed and cattle industry 
    • General knowledge of the Maine-Anjou breed and cattle industry 
    • Goals as the Iowa Maine-Anjou Queen or Princess 
Responsibilities
  •  Assist at the Iowa Maine-Anjou open show at the Iowa State Fair 
  • Assist at the Iowa Maine-Anjou field day 
  • Represent the state at junior nationals as the state queen/princess
